Meet our friend, Dr. Melissa Jane Kronfeld.
Born in Canada and raised in New York, Melissa made Aliyah in 2018. In 2021, with help from Mayor Oded Revivi and fellow Olim Simcha Herring, Melissa set out to build a memorial park for her father on a hill in The Dagan, a community in Efrat, nestled in the lush Judean mountains. Part of The Yishuv's indigenous tree project, the park will support our efforts to repopulate Gush Etzion with 1,000 native trees over the next five years.
With local families volunteering, we have planted 72 of the park's 72 commemorative trees and are preparing for the next phase of park development, including benches, historical markers and traditional stone work. We welcome you, or groups of any size, to come visit the park for a picnic and tour of this inspiring green space. Be a part of history and join us!
100% of all gifts go directly to funding our all-volunteer powered project! Support the park today!
Throughout the year The Yishuv proudly sponsors family-friendly activities that support the competition of our park, like this stone mason workshop (featured below), focused on revitalizing an ancient terrace in the center of the park and creating a stone path through the park. Click to donate and support our all-volunteer, community-wide workshops and activities year-round!
A percentage of the proceeds from Yishuv Industries fund eco-friendly impact projects like our Efrat tree project, in the communities our products are sourced from.
